We love that fact that our six Cherry Republic retail stores are in some of the prettiest and friendliest towns in Michigan. So it’s no surprise that there are old fashioned Michigan 4th of July celebrations planned throughout the Republic this year. As we head into the big holiday weekend, we’ve put together a list of 4th of July celebrations near our stores in Glen Arbor, Traverse City, Boyne City (near Charlevoix), Frankenmuth, Ann Arbor and Holland.
Glen Arbor Parade

Nothing says quintessential Americana more than Glen Arborβs July 4th parade held each Independence Day along Western Avenue/M-22. Anyone and everyone are invited to be a part of this joy-filled parade that kicks off in Glen Haven and makes its way to Glen Arbor. Be sure to watch for the Cherry Republic truck filled with Cherry Ambassadors handing out cups of fresh cherries! This year the parade marks its 60th anniversary and the fun runs from noon to 2 p.m.
Traverse City Fireworks

The 4th of July gets an added boost in Traverse City because it falls right in the middle of the National Cherry Festival, which runs this year from July 2-9. You can catch their spectacular fireworks show over West Grand Traverse Bay on Monday, July 4, starting at dusk.
Boyne City Parade

Just down the road from Cherry Republic’s Charlevoix store you’ll find the cute town of Boyne City. Everyone is welcome to participate in their 4th of July parade, which will feature a pre-parade performance in front of Ace Hardware at 9:30 where you can watch the Lake Side Elite Tsunami Squad and Tidal Waves perform and tumble.
Ann Arbor Parade & 5K Race

Even dogs get into the act at the Ann Arbor 4th of July parade! This will be Ann Arbor’s first July 4th parade in Ann Arbor since 2019, with the route following Fletcher, Washington and Main streets. Looking for even more fun. Take part in the Ann Arbor Sports Commission’s Firecracker 5K race before the parade.
Frankenmuth Fireworks Display

Enjoy a beautiful fireworks display over Frankenmuth to celebrate Independence Day, July 3rd around 9:30pm. Show lasts for 20 minutes and is viewable throughout the city. Brought to you by the Frankenmuth Jaycees.
Holland July 4th Celebration

Ring in the 4th of July in Downtown Holland with daylong festivities. Head to Kollen Park where you’ll enjoy family-friendly activities starting at 2 p.m. and culminating in a fireworks show over Lake Macatawa starting at dusk. Street performers — including musicians, jugglers, aerial acrobats, stilt walkers, dancers, magicians and more — perform in Downtown Holland from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
