This past Sunday, over 200 friends, family members, and Cherry Republic staff members gathered in Glen Arbor for Bob’s 60th Birthday Luau, complete with mandatory leis, a Hawaiian pig roast, tiki torches, and more. Drinks were shared, toasts were made, laughs were had, and a few tears were shed. To commemorate this milestone in Bob’s life, Cherry Republic has commissioned Glen Arbor native Curtis Warnes of Steel Appeal for a recycled metal art installation to be completed and featured at Cherry Republic’s Glen Arbor Campus. In addition to the art installation, we paid to have a star named after Bob, and friend of the company Dennis Gerarthy created a companion piece reading “There are stars, and there are superstars, and then Bob Sutherland” with an illustration of where Bob’s star lies within the Big Dipper.
