A Teaching Moment

Since the COVID-19 crisis began, the faculty and support staff at Principia School have been working overtime to create online learning that mirrors the strong on-site programs the St. Louis school usually delivers. The four school-level (Upper School, Middle School, Lower School and Early Childhood) principals recently teamed together to find a way to thank them.

“Because many of our faculty members vacation in or near Glen Arbor, MI and have been longtime fans of Cherry Republic, we decided to try to replicate the joy of the tasty treats we have come to love,” shared Upper School Principal Christen Alford.

“We purchased 150 Cherry Republic gift boxes and then had a curbside, no-contact delivery for our teams. Each person pulled up to the curb, we had a chance to say ‘thank you’ in person, and then we set the gift box on the passenger seat. It was a huge pick-me-up for all of us.”

Many thanks to the administrative team (including Principals Christen, Sam, Heather and Dorothy, and Assistant Head of School Peter Dry), who came up with this thoughtful way to recognize the hard work of their teachers! And thanks to ALL of the truly caring, creative, and dedicated teachers and administrators out there who give their all for our kids each and every day!
