Mary Swikle, who spends most of her time studying Theology and Humanities at Villanova University, has graced Cherry Republic’s Glen Arbor campus with her impressive painting talent this summer.
This creative college student’s Mom is also a painter, and when she was little Mary got to play with her Mom’s paints, which lead to her interest in art. She’s translated that love for artistic expression into a beautiful new mural that graces our new sample tasting counter outside of The Cherry Republic Winery.
Mary says she was inspired by the iconic Kristin Hurlin-designed tins and Original Cherry Republic T-Shirt that Cherry Republic is so well known for. “I really wanted to showcase the time passing and the seasons change and just how beautiful Northern Michigan is all year,” Mary explains. She added that the bear “is just for fun!”
Cherry Republic President Bob Sutherland is smitten with this new contribution. “Mary’s tribute to the cherry growing season is beautiful,” he says. “She has talent!”
Thanks for adding to the whimsical vibe at our campus, Mary!
