Monday is Federal Income Tax Day. To help you come to terms with all that you pay to Uncle Sam, we thought it would be good to remind you of the five things that our federal government does that we all love!
Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is only one of the many spots to visit in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Word in Washington was that this was one of the most expensive per square foot parks in the whole system and one of the most difficult to make happen. But it is worth 100 times what the feds paid today!

Protecting our Great Lakes and all of our waterways. We cannot forget what access pools and dumps our great lakes were before the Federal Government set about to protect them from pollution. GI Bill. This important piece of legislation enacted after WWII did more to kick off our nations run of prosperity and world leadership than any other act in our history.

National Weather Service. The National Weather Service not only makes our lives more convenient by forecasting our daily weather, it also helps to ensure the safety of planes in the air and ships at sea and it has saved countless lives with its storm warnings. The NPS’s weather predictions have improved by fifty percent during the past 15 years; and its forecasts of weather 72 hours in advance is now as reliable as 36-hour forecasts 25 years ago. And they say it’s going to be a great weekend starting tomorrow, so come on up!
